The Llama is a domesticated animal that hails from South America. They are usually used as a pack animal. They are also used for food, clothing from hides and wool, tallow for candles and dung for firewood. When the Llama is treated poorly it will spit, bite, and lie down on the ground. Llama herds are found in Boliva, Peru, Chilie, Ecuador, Argentina, and Columbia. The Llama is sheered for their fleece every two years. They are related to the Alpaca. The Alpaca’s fleece is more coveted because it is softer than the Llama’s. The Llama and Alpaca are so domesticated that there is not one known that lives in the wild.
